Senior Designer & Code Wrangler
Robin Deutschendorf
Exposure to DOS at an impressionable age led Robin down the path to computer nerd-dom, but her interest in code was always tempered by a healthy appreciation for aesthetics. With a formal education in the fine arts and a practical education in the nuts and bolts of computing, Robin is a unique package - both website builder and website designer.
Robin is primarily interested in creating design that is beautiful, functional, and user-friendly.
CFO & Discourse Maverick
Brian Deutschendorf
As Chief Financial Officer, Brian balances the books and helps with the highly important day-to-day concerns that keep the business running smoothly.
As Discourse Maverick, Brian's duties are perhaps both less well-defined and more important. He is the second opinion and the keen, unbiased eye that can take a fresh glance at a project as it begins to grow over-worked or stale. His definitive lack of education in the visual arts has left him free to express aesthetic opinions unfettered by the after-effects of too many design classes.
Mascot & Resident Pessimist
Peanut
They say elephants never forget, but it turns out bears don't either. Peanut has never gotten over the sad fact that he no longer lives in Arizona. Before he left Arizona, he never got over the disappointment that he was created without a spine or any structural integrity.
Peanut has been the voice of doom around the Brown Wing Studio headquarters since the early days, and he does his job so well there is really no room for improvement.
Behind the Bird
You probably know the Brown Wing Studio is a full-service website development and graphic design studio based in Iowa City, IA. But what does that mean, exactly? Who are the people behind the brand?
Rest assured, we are real people. Robin started the company in 2002, and since then the venture has grown and prospered via a lot of hard-work and a part-time job or two. Now we're big enough that Robin works on logos and websites all day, every day! But we're not so big we don't value our clients. We'll never get that big.
